Home Assistant 2026.9 arrives today with a clearer account of what is happening across the home: important security alerts stand out, History and Activity share a more useful source picker, and Matter devices gain an in-app network map.

The Security dashboard can separate alerts from warnings and keep favorite locks, doors and sensors close at hand. History and Activity gain a shared source panel for filtering by floor, area, device or integration, while a new Activity details view traces a change from its trigger through automations or scripts to the affected entity.

Matter’s new map shows Wi-Fi and Thread paths, routers and border routers without requiring the Matter Server’s separate interface. The release also introduces a clearer Home Assistant Cloud trial flow that signs new subscribers in after email confirmation.
