An iPhone moving between access points on the same Wi-Fi network can briefly report no current network. The Home Assistant app treated that gap as leaving the internal network, switched to its external address and reloaded the whole interface—then reloaded it again seconds later when Wi-Fi reappeared.
The fix keeps the last known network state through that short gap. An empty reading is accepted immediately on cellular, or after 60 seconds without a valid Wi-Fi result, so a transient handoff no longer causes the connection to bounce while a genuinely lost network is still recognized.
