On iOS 17 and later, Home Assistant’s app gives Siri a direct way to run scripts, activate scenes and trigger automations without first building a shortcut. The built-in phrases also ask Assist questions, request camera snapshots and read the current state of a device or sensor.

The state-reading action answers aloud and displays a result card. Device controls return spoken confirmations too, replacing empty responses for lights, switches, fans, covers and other supported actions. Names, areas and floors give Siri and Shortcuts more context about each item.
