Home Assistant stops a long sensor-averaging window from holding up startup while it replays recorded readings. In a reported setup with a 24-hour window and a reading every five seconds, that replay delayed startup for six to seven minutes—long enough for the global timeout to cancel ZHA and other integrations.
Franck Nijhof replaces repeated scans of the full window with a running total. Replaying 16,945 readings took 0.08 seconds instead of 34.76 seconds on his test machine. Those measurements describe the replay itself, rather than the full startup reported by the affected user; comparisons with the old calculation found unchanged results.
