Music Assistant adds an optional way to make its Plex Connect players appear in Plexamp on iPhones that cannot find them locally. Linking the player to a Plex account makes it discoverable through Plex’s device registry; networks where local discovery already works do not need the extra step.
Mark Johnson tested the approach on an affected network, where the player appeared within seconds and responded to playback, queue and volume controls. Unlinked players make no requests to plex.tv, and an unreachable Plex service does not prevent the plugin from starting.
Removing the plugin may leave its registration behind, so the account’s Authorized Devices page may need a manual cleanup. This is Johnson’s first contribution to the Music Assistant server.
