Home Assistant expands what a UniFi Protect connection can control using only an API key. Camera status lights, overlays and smart-detection settings join floodlight status lights, smart-sensor detection switches and relay outputs, without requiring the additional local user account used by full-access mode.
Raphael Hehl builds on the existing API-key-only connection. Smart sensors become available in that mode and relays gain full support, while settings absent from UniFi’s public interface still require full access. Relays adopted after setup are also discovered automatically.
