Malayalam speakers gain ways to set Assist timers using quarter, half and three-quarter durations. The sentence rules interpret fractions of an hour as minutes and fractions of a minute as seconds, and the spoken confirmation reflects the requested duration.
Arun S. Sekher also expands timer-setting phrases, native timer names and alternative number words from one through ten. The additions extend existing Malayalam timer controls rather than introducing timers to the language for the first time.
