A Home Assistant shortcut copied between Apple devices through iCloud could fail with “No server provided” even while displaying the right server name. The Apple app resolves an unfamiliar saved identifier to the sole configured server, keeping the same shortcut usable on both devices. Multiple-server setups and widgets keep strict matching.
Bruno Pantaleão Gonçalves also makes newly added servers use Home Assistant’s own identity when it can be obtained through local discovery or the companion-app interface. That covers typed addresses and invitations, including remote connections when the server supplies the identity. Existing saved identifiers stay unchanged.
