Home Assistant restores location updates for iCloud devices whose coordinates could remain frozen long after they moved. The integration explicitly asks Apple to locate the devices before reading their status, using its existing polling schedule.
Radek Piekarz verified the correction on an account with nine devices: one phone had kept the same coordinates for about ten hours across two trips, then moved to its actual zone on the next poll. Fresh battery readings could hide the stalled locations. Piekarz makes his first contribution to Home Assistant Core with the correction.
