Home Assistant tackles iOS 27 dashboard lag with a security tradeoff

Home Assistant’s Apple app changes a browser security setting to tackle severe dashboard lag on iOS 27. Bruno Pantaleão Gonçalves reports that WebKit puts unencrypted HTTP pages in an enhanced-security process even on a private home network, while the same dashboard over HTTPS avoids that behavior.

When a configured server uses plain HTTP, the app disables the preference that selects that extra security mode. A General setting restores Apple’s default for people who prefer to keep the additional protection.

Gonçalves verified the process selection in a basic WebKit browser view, but a check against Home Assistant on a real device remains outstanding. The preference is undocumented and could change in a later Apple update.
