Home Assistant lets each household member edit their own name and profile picture from an Edit profile button. Previously, changing a picture required an administrator to open that person’s settings. The new dialog uploads and crops an image and keeps the name consistent across the account and its linked person.
The permission covers only the signed-in person’s name and picture. Device tracking and account privileges stay under administrator control. Pictures must be uploaded to Home Assistant; accounts without an editable linked person can change their name but cannot set a picture.
