Home Assistant gives configured AI assistants tools for inspecting a KNX building-automation installation and interacting with its control network. The tools reach stored device messages, information from the installation’s ETS project and live KNX access, beyond ordinary Home Assistant entities.
Martin Hoefling connects the tools to Home Assistant conversation agents and to external clients through its Model Context Protocol server. An administrator must first attach the KNX toolset. The set includes tools that transmit on the bus, so it is not a read-only inspection interface.
