David of DAB-LABS reports a working route from capturing an infrared remote to generating a standalone Home Assistant integration. Two proof-of-concept integrations cover Sanmli TH-05 candles and a Daikin FTXS50KVM air conditioner, extending the foundation’s effort to make brand-specific infrared support easier to create.

The Daikin example becomes a normal climate control that sends its full state whenever a setting changes. David says its 521 captured codes cover combinations of mode, fan, swing and temperature, plus Off. The generation tool checks generated codes against captures before producing an integration.

These examples bypassed the planned requirement for several hardware attestations. Wider use still needs that verification, and work continues on air-conditioner protocols and testing without manually pressing hundreds of commands. The public roadmap opportunity remains in Building; these are community prototypes, not a claim of universal remote support.
