Home Assistant owners using Nest’s older event connection need to move it into their own Google Cloud project by November 30. Google will stop publishing events to the legacy Google-hosted topics after that date, leaving affected connections without those updates.
Klaas Schoute corrects Home Assistant’s troubleshooting guide, which previously said the old setup worked fine. A topic beginning with projects/sdm-prod/topics identifies the affected arrangement. The guide directs owners to create a topic in their own project, disable the legacy topic and re-enable events with the replacement in the Device Access Console.
