Sofar inverter owners gain a serial connection option in Home Assistant, including local serial ports and ports shared over the network by an ESPHome proxy. Setup detects the inverter model from its serial number, extending the existing Modbus network connection to inverters reached through their RS485 terminals.
Contributor darkrain-nl tested the connection on a real inverter through an ESPHome serial proxy. Existing network connections keep their current type; changing an existing connection between serial and network is separate work.
