The Open Home Foundation plans to let people correct model information and add images to existing Device Database entries. Its expanded roadmap brings community contributions and richer pages into one effort, while exploring a public launch beyond Preview in early 2027.

Matthias Kerstner rewrites the contribution opportunity to include the richer-pages work that previously had its own proposal. Website edits and direct contributions to the public repository would share review and attribution, with a GitHub account required initially. The first editable fields cover images, model, model ID, category and brand; overviews, references and galleries are also in scope.

Facts reported by Home Assistant would remain visibly separate from community additions. Information from other public databases would enter as suggestions for contributors to accept. The plan calls for one importer to demonstrate the process; moderation rules, conflicting information and image rights still need resolution.

Kerstner’s separate launch proposal remains in Considering and targets leaving Preview and OHF Labs in the first quarter of 2027. Contributions, visual design and branding, and legal review must come together first. The quarter is a planning target; using the data inside Home Assistant and through a public API sits outside this launch scope.
