ESPHome lets device makers describe a guided setup for Home Assistant, highlighting the settings that matter and asking the owner to choose the household entities the device needs. A device can define several pages instead of leaving someone to work through a long list of controls.
Jesse Hills supplies the firmware and client support. A maker can expose selected device settings, connect a sensor or control to an entity chosen in Home Assistant, or ask for an entity used by a custom action. The configuration decides which entity types are valid choices.
The guide specifies Home Assistant 2026.11 for showing these pages. This adds choices defined by the device maker, beyond the general capability checklist reported on October 1.
