Sendspin’s command-line player gains an audio input option for sending a microphone or line-in to a compatible server. Linux supports ALSA, PipeWire and PulseAudio inputs, while macOS uses CoreAudio. The input is optional and can run alongside the player’s existing audio output.

Chris builds on the C++ audio-input support reported on October 6. A Mac test sent audible microphone audio to Music Assistant, including the macOS permission prompt. Linux tests verified capture and device recovery; streaming that capture to a server remains untested.

A named Linux input stays tied to that device instead of silently switching to the default if it disappears. Mac users should make their first run from Terminal.app so the microphone permission prompt can appear.
