Music Assistant preserves high-resolution audio from sources that do not report its format. Previously, it assumed 44.1 kHz and 16-bit audio before buffering, reducing a recording such as a 24-bit, 48 kHz FLAC to that lower format.

Marcel van der Veldt adds a format check before buffering tracks, audiobooks and podcast episodes. The check gives up after five seconds and leaves playback on its previous path if it cannot identify the format. Radio, live sources and provider-specific streams are unchanged; the correction also prevents WAV and AIFF file headers from playing as noise after seeking.
