Music Assistant makes short backward skips in streamed podcasts and audiobooks faster by retaining up to the last minute of played audio. Contributor OzGav reports that a ten-second rewind previously usually took about five seconds because the server had to fetch that audio again.
Quick repeated skips become one jump. The change uses the existing memory allocation; the smallest buffer setting retains less history. Skipping back more than a minute, or again immediately after a fresh fetch, still needs another request to the source.
