Music Assistant prevents large album covers from exhausting a small server’s memory while music plays. Beta users on 4 GB Home Assistant hosts reported the add-on stopping after a few skips through music they had not played before.

Marcel van der Veldt makes the colours behind the now-playing screen come from a small cached thumbnail instead of the full-size cover. In a playback test with supplied music files and repeated skips, peak server memory fell from 5.2 GB to 459 MB. A related correction passes original-size JPEG covers through without unnecessarily decoding and recreating them.
