ESPHome corrects a failure that silently re-enabled charging on devices using the SY6970 power-management chip about forty seconds after startup. The same failure could turn its status light back on after the maker disabled it.

Contributor willumpie82 keeps the chip’s watchdog refreshed independently of sensor polling, preserving those settings while the device runs. This is their first contribution to ESPHome.

Long deep-sleep periods still need explicit watchdog handling because the sleeping processor cannot refresh it. The change adds configuration and control options for that case; it does not automatically preserve the settings through every sleep configuration.
