Home Assistant connects to SmartyPlants soil sensors, with each plant represented by readings for soil moisture, temperature, humidity, light and light quality. A health score and fertilizing countdown reflect the plant’s species.
The integration polls the SmartyPlants cloud service every minute. Homes reachable from the internet can optionally receive signed updates immediately as well; ordinary polling remains available without that setup.
