Music Assistant’s AirPlay tool lets a HomePod pass Siri commands and touches on its top surface back to the server when its AirPlay permission is Everyone on the same network. Those speakers could play music but their skip, pause and play requests were silently ignored.
Aiden Kwok enables the command channel for that connection mode and corrects its encryption key handling. In a standalone HomePod test running OS 27.0, a spoken skip reached the server and taps paused and resumed playback. This is Kwok’s first contribution to the AirPlay tool, reviewed by Marcel van der Veldt.
