Music Assistant cuts unnecessary Apple Music requests so background library work puts less pressure on listening and browsing. Apple limits requests across the developer account used by Music Assistant installations, making avoidable traffic a shared problem.
Library synchronization moves from twice a day to daily for installations still using the old default. A small check skips an unchanged library, with a full scan at least weekly and manual scans always available. Favorites still receive a daily check; playlist tracks are fetched again when their change marker changes instead of on every expired page cache.
During rate limiting, background requests give up after three attempts while playback and ordinary user actions retain eight. This reduces time spent waiting behind background work. Some tasks started by a person, including playlist imports, also use that shorter retry limit. Custom synchronization schedules are preserved.
