Home Assistant’s backup progress bar fills as uploads advance instead of only pulsing. With several destinations, it follows the slowest upload so a copy already written locally does not make the whole backup look further along.
Dropbox and Azure Storage also begin reporting their upload progress. Dropbox’s percentage can lead the actual transfer by one buffered chunk of up to 16 MB; Azure uploads of 64 MB or less report only completion.
Update screens explain when a Home Assistant backup is creating, uploading or restoring and temporarily disable updates until it finishes. That warning covers backups started through Home Assistant; other installation failures are displayed in the update dialog.
