Sendspin’s command-line player adds a way to send the sound a Mac or Linux computer is already playing to a compatible server. People can capture the default audio output or choose one output device, extending the earlier microphone and line-in support to audio from applications.
On macOS 14.2 or later, the capture excludes Sendspin’s own playback to avoid feeding it back to the server. The computer needs System Audio Recording permission; a silent capture triggers a warning if permission appears to be missing. Chris tested system sounds, individual outputs and changing the output’s sample rate on macOS 26.
On Linux, the player uses PipeWire or PulseAudio and follows changes to the default output. It warns when the capture could include the player’s own sound. Tests covered capture and recovery with virtual audio outputs; this is a command-line capability rather than a new graphical control.
