Home Assistant adds a Python console for inspecting and debugging a running installation from its Tools panel. Developers can run code against the live system, expand results as an object tree and use completion and signature hints without opening a separate Python session.
Franck Nijhof makes the console an explicit YAML opt-in for administrators. Each user accepts a warning before running code, and execution is logged with the person responsible. Sessions belong to each user and browser tab and remain available for thirty minutes after disconnecting.
The console works with live internals, so running code can change the installation. Completion and signature hints themselves do not execute user code.
