ESPHome adds a standard video stream for cameras connected to an ESP32. The RTSP server sends Motion JPEG pictures to clients such as VLC, go2rtc and Frigate, giving makers another way to view or record their camera feed.
The server starts the camera stream when a viewer connects and stops it when viewers leave. A slow viewer drops a frame rather than holding up other consumers. It supports two connections by default and can restrict access to chosen IP addresses; the connection uses plain TCP, so it belongs on a trusted network.
