Music Assistant’s desktop app stops replacing an unreadable settings file with defaults. It uses temporary defaults in memory, displays the file location and recovery instructions, and blocks saving until the file is repaired or removed and the app restarted.

David Bishop also removes recognized passwords, tokens and credentials embedded in addresses from the app’s logs and error diagnostics. Failed saves are reported and the affected controls return to their previous state, rather than suggesting the change succeeded.
