ESPHome adds a light that mirrors a chosen Home Assistant light and controls it through the native connection. Makers can use ordinary ESPHome light actions to build a dimming button or display control while following changes made elsewhere.
Egor Vorontsov’s implementation follows the light’s state, brightness, colour and supported colour modes. After sending a change, it waits for Home Assistant to confirm the result; if the request cannot be sent or no report arrives, it returns to the last reported state instead of continuing to show an unconfirmed setting.
