Home Assistant adds a visual editor for its alert card, making it possible to place and configure the warning display on any dashboard without writing YAML. The card can highlight triggered alarms, active binary sensors, open covers and unlocked, open or jammed locks.
The editor separates the colour used during an alert from the colour shown when it is clear. Alerts default to red, and an optional pulse respects the viewer’s reduced-motion preference by keeping the colour steady.
The built-in home and security dashboards keep their existing behaviour. Anyone who added an alert card through YAML needs to replace the old color option with alert_color; setting it to none keeps alerts uncoloured.
