Home Assistant adds more information for shifting electricity use into cheaper periods. ENGIE Belgium households with dynamic tariffs gain hourly and quarter-hourly day-ahead price readings, while a new ecosmart connection brings New Zealand wholesale prices and forecasts into Home Assistant.
ENGIE reports the current and next price, today’s lowest and highest prices, and whether tomorrow’s prices have been published. Its public price endpoint needs no additional credentials; households without a dynamic tariff receive none of these new readings.
For ecosmart customers, the connection reports the current spot price including GST and the forecast for the current half-hour, with the published forward curve attached. Stale spot readings become unavailable instead of continuing to direct an automation with an old price. This first version supplies readings, not charging controls.
