Home Assistant adds two-way audio to its camera viewer, letting someone watching a compatible camera speak through its speaker. The Talk control starts a new WebRTC stream with a return audio channel; Reolink supplies the first integration support for cameras using RTSP.
The feature is an opt-in Labs preview. In a browser, microphone access requires HTTPS. Matching iPhone app support carries microphone audio through a native connection when the page uses ordinary HTTP; Mac Catalyst is outside that app route. Cameras using Reolink’s RTMP or FLV streams do not receive the audio backchannel.
This extends Home Assistant’s own camera interface beyond viewing and snapshots. It does not establish talkback for the Matter cameras added to Home Assistant yesterday.
