Home Assistant’s installer stops listing internal eMMC storage as a removable SD card on Linux. The running system’s disk was already protected, but an unmounted internal disk containing another installation could still appear in the drive chooser.

The installer reads the kernel’s device type to distinguish SD cards from eMMC. If the type cannot be read, it hides the device; older removable MMC cards are hidden too. The change has automated Linux coverage but has not been checked on real eMMC hardware.
