ESPHome adds Bluetooth firmware uploads for nRF52 boards using the Adafruit bootloader, including nice!nano, ItsyBitsy and Feather nRF52840. Ömer Şiar Baysal makes his first contribution to ESPHome with the addition, extending the command-line uploader beyond its existing MCUboot route.
The Bluetooth service also starts in safe mode, allowing a previously paired computer to recover a board stuck restarting. Safe mode rejects new pairings because it does not run the automation that approves them. Normal operation should enable pairing to restrict who can request an update.
Hardware checks covered a nice!nano and an ItsyBitsy, including an upload from macOS. A board still running the old update service needs one update through its existing method before the new route works.
