ESPHome corrects temperature settings sent to Fahrenheit-based climate devices. A setting written as 30°C is converted to 86°F rather than being sent as 30°F to Friedrich, Islandaire or a Mitsubishi CN105 configured for Fahrenheit.
Template climate devices and water heaters also gain Celsius, Fahrenheit or Kelvin selection, matching the values supplied by their sensors and templates. Values written without a unit keep using the device’s own scale; other existing platforms retain Celsius.
