Home Assistant restores certificate checks for UniFi Network connections with Verify SSL enabled. A conflicting connection setting had silently disabled those checks for both ordinary requests and live updates. Eric Constantin makes his first contribution to Home Assistant Core with the correction.
Controllers using an untrusted, expired or mismatched certificate can therefore stop connecting when this correction is adopted. Keeping verification enabled requires a certificate chain trusted by Home Assistant and a configured hostname matching the certificate. Connections with verification deliberately disabled retain their existing behaviour.
