ESPHome’s remote-screen display gains password authentication, allowing panels to connect to VNC servers that require a password. It extends the remote dashboard viewer and touchscreen controls covered earlier this month.
A rejected password stops automatic retries and sets an error rather than repeatedly attempting the same login. Makers can explicitly reconnect after correcting the problem, or disconnect before putting a panel to sleep.
