ESPHome reads whether a compatible Mitsubishi mini-split is actively heating or cooling, rather than showing only its selected mode. Home Assistant can display that activity and keep it in the climate history. The status normally updates with the temperature readings, once a minute by default.
Companion controls let owners aim the horizontal vane to either side, split the airflow or make it swing. Automations can read and set both horizontal and vertical vane directions together.
Units that do not supply the operating-status response keep working, but cannot report measured heating or cooling activity. Kyle Boone makes his first ESPHome contribution with the activity reporting; Boris Krivonog supplies the airflow controls.
