Home Assistant’s Android app plays a listening chime when Assist is started by a wake word or a system-assistant control, including a headset button. The sound confirms that the request was heard when the screen is out of sight and makes accidental wake-word activation easier to notice.
The setting starts enabled and can be turned off under Assist settings. Tapping the on-screen microphone stays silent because it already gives visual feedback; recording begins after the chime so speech recognition does not pick up the sound. Juan Ruitiña makes his first contribution to the Android app with the change.
