Home Assistant 2026.11 arrives today with the Marketplace built in. The successor to HACS lets administrators browse and install community integrations, dashboard cards, themes and templates from Settings, including on Container installations. Catalogue downloads need no GitHub account, and a newly installed integration opens its setup flow without restarting Home Assistant. Existing HACS installations migrate automatically, keeping installed projects, custom repositories and update entities.
Updates to community projects still require a restart, and adding a custom repository still needs a GitHub connection. Bringing the catalogue into Home Assistant does not turn its contents into officially supported software: projects run inside the installation and remain unaudited by the Home Assistant project. Franck Nijhof’s release notes credit HACS founder Joakim Sørensen and the project’s maintainers for making the transition possible.
Automation targets gain exclusions, so a rule can act on the ground floor while leaving out the kitchen. Those selections are recalculated each time the rule runs, including devices added later. Matter 1.5 cameras also gain live video and snapshots. An optional Two-way audio feature in Labs adds a talk button for supported Matter and Reolink cameras; it requires HTTPS, and Reolink cameras must use RTSP streaming.
Before upgrading, Z-Wave users need Z-Wave JS server 3.11.0 or later: at least version 1.9.0 of the Z-Wave JS app, or Z-Wave JS UI 11.24.2. Older Telegram notification actions are also removed; affected automations need the Telegram bot integration’s notification entities or its own actions. The release notes list the remaining integration-specific changes to check.
