The Marketplace can download its catalogue and community projects through mirrors run by the Home Assistant China community. Home Assistant recognizes existing HACS China installations during migration and keeps them on the mirrors, so their downloads can continue without a VPN.
The Marketplace menu also lets owners choose GitHub or the China mirrors. A fresh installation configured for China offers the choice if it cannot reach the catalogue. HACS China’s shared-pool credentials are discarded during migration. Owners keep their personal GitHub tokens, and the Marketplace keeps those tokens out of requests to the mirror.
