Home Assistant is adding a choice between restoring an Elgato light’s last state or using configured defaults after power returns. Franck Nijhof added controls for default brightness and color temperature, using each device’s own range, plus diagnostic Wi-Fi signal sensors.
A new update entity can find, install and report progress for firmware images distributed inside Elgato Control Center archives. The remote catalog has its own twice-daily coordinator; if Elgato’s server is unavailable, every locally controlled light entity continues to load and operate.
The underlying color-temperature refactor and companion documentation complete a coordinated expansion rather than separate stories.
