Forecast.Solar’s Python library corrects daily production estimates for installations outside UTC. It previously requested totals grouped by UTC date, which could move a local morning’s forecast into the preceding day and give misleading figures for today and tomorrow.
Dex changes the request to use the installation’s timezone. In a comparison against the live service for a Sydney installation, the September 20 estimate was 12,059 watt-hours when grouped locally, instead of 9,454 in the UTC group. This is Dex’s first contribution to the library, reviewed by Klaas Schoute.
