Home Assistant lets an Assist voice assistant act as a chosen user. A request from a voice satellite previously carried no user identity, leaving integrations unable to choose that person’s linked account. Music Assistant can use the new setting to play from their own streaming account.
The “Acts as user” choice belongs to the assistant’s configuration; it does not recognize who is speaking. Requests from a signed-in non-administrator keep that person’s own identity, and a removed or inactive account is not adopted.
