ESPHome Device Builder protects changes made directly in YAML when someone returns to its visual forms. Editing a form within a second of changing the text could previously replace the new text with older values. The forms read the current configuration before writing, while automation editors briefly pause until their updated contents are ready.
J. Nick Koston also prevents deleted formulas from being written into another action, filter or light-effect row. Moving or deleting a row could transfer its remembered values to the wrong place; entries the visual editor could not display could also make it change the wrong item or reorder the remaining entries.
When two items share the same editing address, Device Builder refuses an ambiguous change instead of silently replacing or deleting the wrong item. Its message asks the maker to give the items distinct identifiers in YAML.
