Home Assistant’s Apple Watch assistant follows the local speech and mute choices set for Assist on the iPhone. With local speech recognition enabled, the paired iPhone transcribes the watch recording instead of sending it for server transcription.

When local speech output is selected, the watch speaks the answer itself. Muting replies or choosing local speech also stops the request for a server-generated voice response. Bruno Pantaleão Gonçalves supplies the change.
