Withings says its free API plan introduces a Withings+ subscription requirement for new accounts sharing their data. Home Assistant’s setup guide adds the subscription as a prerequisite, changing the cost of connecting newly created Withings accounts through the existing setup process.
Withings dates the policy change to October 12 and says accounts created before that date are unaffected. The policy covers free-plan applications already in operation as well as new ones. Ethan G adds the warning in his first contribution to Home Assistant’s website.
