Music Assistant changes its streaming default for newer Android-based Cast receivers, including the 2026 Google Home Speaker and Android TV sticks. These receivers stopped a stream after about 24 MiB when sent a stated content length—roughly ten minutes of high-quality MP3 or three to four minutes of FLAC—then advanced the queue or stopped radio.
The connection no longer sends that length by default. Existing custom choices are preserved, while players still using the default follow the correction automatically. Separate decoding failures remain outside this fix; with flow mode disabled, individual tracks also lose the duration display on the receiver.
